Travel Hockey Tryouts 2023-2024 Season
Welcome to the 2023-2024 Travel Hockey Tryout season.
We are excited to announce some enhancements to the Wizard’s program. We have added 2 skills coaches to enhance player development throughout the season. Each team at the Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam levels will have two practices each week, plus an additional skills session. The skills session will run each week starting in September and running through mid-December.
The Mite level is fortunate to work with Paul Kelly for their skills session. Coach Kelly, a native of Hamilton, Ontario, has been involved with the Wonderland Wizards Youth Hockey Association since the organization’s inception in 2003.Paul runs many programs and clinics throughout the year dedicated to hockey skills and skating development of the Wonderland Wizards players. He is well known around the rink and responsible for the development of many lifetime Wizard players.
Pee Wee, Squirts and Bantams will be working with skills coach Dave Canfarotta. Dave is well known within the Fairfield County hockey community. Dave is the founder and head instructor of DC Skills Hockey. Dave comes to us after teaching skills at many rinks across CT. He is a member of the Fairfield High School coaching staff and is the newly announced coach of the Fairfield Country Day School hockey team for the 23/24 season. We are excited to have Dave join the Wizards family!

Tryout dates are listed below. Please note that based on states, these dates might shift slightly:
- Mites: (2015/2016 birth year) – February 13th,14th (4:45pm both days)
- Squirts: (2013/2014 birth year) - March 6th, 7th, 8th
- Peewee: (2011/2012 birth year) - March 6th, 7th, 8th
- Bantam (2009/2010 birth year) - April 5th, 6th and 7th
- Lady Wizards U12 & U14 - March 6th, 8th
- Midgets - TBD
